Overview

Kepczyk Pearce Sanderson is an RIBA Chartered Practice based in Handforth, Cheshire. It was established to provide a high-quality ethical service in the conservation, repair, reuse and reordering of historic buildings, churches and structures including the design of sympathetic extensions to existing structures as well as new buildings. We have a sensitive and considered approach to our work and we aim to be friendly and approachable; working as a team to achieve a successful outcome for all our clients and projects alike.

About Us

Kepczyk Pearce Sanderson was founded by Andrew Kepczyk (MSc CHE MRICS RICS Accredited Historic Building Surveyor), Mark Pearce (BA(Hons) BArch(Hons) MA GradDiplCons(AA) RIBA AABC) and Duncan Sanderson (BA(Hons) BArch(Hons) GradDiplCons(AA) RIBA AABC); all three Directors have conservation accreditation and serve on various committees and accreditation panels.
Collectively we have worked on a broad range of building types and structures covered by the highest statutory protection, including Grade I Listed buildings, public parks, private houses and Scheduled Monuments. We also have a wide experience of working with clients on numerous significant and sensitive projects in both England and Wales, many of which are Listed buildings and involve an expert knowledge of public funding systems, grants and both the secular and ecclesiastical consent processes. Our clients range from Cadw, the Local Authority and the Science Museum Group to many churches of all denominations.

How We Work

While every project is unique, our aim is always creative conservation, which means balancing the preservation of a building or a place with the need for intervention, to ensure its continued viability and sustainability. The Directors are closely involved with all projects, which are often led by thorough research and investigation resulting in informed proposals and guided change. As a result, commissions often involve the production of detailed Building Condition Surveys, which are usually in close coordination with other specialist consultants.
The practice members have a comprehensive knowledge of architectural history and conservation principles, as well as a thorough practical knowledge of traditional building materials, the repair of historic structures, modern standards and technologies.
